Karel Van Isacker from Greece

1- Name - Surname - Nickname - age - city - country ?
My name is Karel Van Isacker aka LBB, I am from the blessed year of 1974, and am currently living in Athens, Greece but originating from Belgium's northern provice West Flanders.

2- What did you do for living?
I am at the moment project manager for a Greek company that is active all over Europe in the field of telecommunication, internet and intranet applications. I therefore travel a lot and get the opportunity as such to meet fellow Sting fans in Europe.

3- Sting or Police?

The Police, because they have that dynamism that I currently lack with Sting.

4- When did you start to collect Sting items and why?
In 1988 , I bought Nothing Like The Sun ... in HMV, London and from then on, I bought just everything I could find. I did however already sing Roxanne at the age of 5 ... my mum still recalls it. My twinbrother Bernard was the one that started collecting live recordings on CD for me, he once came back from a trip with as present dozens of live CDs from Sting and The Police.

5- What did you collect (everything, just CD, vinyl…)?
Starting with tapes and vinyl, I quickly evolved to CD, MD and now DVD and DTS. I do not collect every version of an album and do not bother about different artwork, etc., but I do want to have every song The Police, Sting or Andy Summers made. So far my collection contains about 600 different CDs apart from some hundred CD-singles.

6- What is the item your are the proudest to have?
That must be ... the live recording of Sting's Lille concert of 2000 which I attended, not because it is rare but simply because this coincided with a great evening with great fans from all over the world and still brings back the taste of "moules et frites"... and at the end of that evening an almost flying Englishman in the window of a restaurant ... Many thanks again to Jer, Andrea, Fred, ...

7- What is the item your definitely want top have?
What I definitely do not want to have are the Mercury Falling demos, all the other demos are very welcome :p.

8- What is your best remember about Sting and/or collecting?
The nice meetings (and good friendships that resulted from that) at the beginning and at the end of concerts with people like Martin, Jeremy, Rudiger, Volker, Magda, Markus, Fiona, ...

9- How many time did you see sting/Police live?
Unfortunately I only saw Sting 10 times ...
